"THE SIGHT"

The sight is a terminology for humans that have the ability to see into the 5th Plane of Existence (The Fledgling occupied one). It means your character has the ability to see all fledglings, and not just the pearls. It's a very special gift only a few humans have, and even fewer understand.

Around 1 in every 100 people have the sight from various circumstances.

Your character can only gain "the sight" if:
--He/she owns a fledgling.
--He/she was physically hurt by a fledgling.

There has never been a recorded case of a human born with the sight.

That being said. Humans without the sight cannot see fledglings. They cannot see Ultimates or Infant manifestations, and can only see Pearls if the pearl is still wild.
However because the pearls move so fast, most people miss them entirely. It's one of those things where you need to know what you're looking for before hand.

Hence most people are born into the Fledgling reality as opposed to those that discover it.

Down side to the sight
Fledglings can sometimes look less than pretty, and because the sight is non-discriminatory that means your character will see all of them. Gross, pretty, and disturbed and all. What has been seen cannot be unseen, and because of this, the sight has been known to drive the weak hearted insane.
